Qualifiche – venerdì
Primo giorno in pista per i piloti del Kuja Racing sul rinnovato tracciato tedesco.
Le qualifiche del venerdì vedono i nostri piloti in Supersport chiudere con un 2’00.5
per
Mark Aitchison, a poco più di un secondo dalla pole provvisoria di Kenan Sofuoglu. Diciottesimo tempo invece per Danilo Dell’Omo, un secondo più veloce nel pomeriggio
rispetto alle libere della mattina.
Mark Aitchison, che settimana scorsa ha partecipato a una giornata di test sul circuito
di Misano, ci dice: “sono soddisfatto del lavoro svolto oggi. Il mio Team ha lavorato alla grande, riuscendo a risolvere un piccolo disguido che ci ha rallentati in mattinata. Nel pomeriggio abbiamo migliorato molto, raggiungendo un buon punto, anche in classifica.
Abbiamo ancora del lavoro da portare a termine domani per continuare su questa linea e io sono fiducioso”.
Il programma di domani prevede il turno di libere della Stock1000 alle ore 09.00 e
quello della SS600 alle ore 09.45.
Le qualifiche si terranno nel pomeriggio, a ordine invertito, ore 16.05 per la Sport e
un’ora più tardi per la Stock. |

Nurburgring, Friday Qualifying Practice
First day of practice on the New Nurburgring Circuit see our riders in SS600
finishing the session with a time of 2’00.538 for Mark Aitchison , a bit more than
1 second away from the provisional pole time set by Kenan Sofuoglu, while
his teammate Danilo Dell’Omo finishes in 18th position, with a time of 2’02.2, 1
second faster than he was during the free practice.
Mark Aitchison, who took part last week in a day of testing in Misano, says: “We
Started the free practice today with a small technical problem which slowed us a lot
during the practice and as a consequence we lost a lot of track time. Luckily during
the qualifying my Team did a very good job and managed to fix the problem, going
in the right direction. We improved a lot during the qualifying. There is still
some work to do tomorrow but I’m quite confident: we will try to make this
improvement consistent from now on”.
Tomorrow’s 45-minutes free practice for the WSS on the German track are
scheduled at 09.45 and the official Qualifying practice in the afternoon at 16.05 |

SILVERSTONE Race Report
Non è stato un weekend facile per i piloti del Kuja Racing a Silverstone.
La SS600 è iniziata con un grosso incidente durante il primo giro, con seguente bandiera rossa e nuova partenza.
16 giri dopo il nuovo start, Danilo Dell’Omo e Mark Aitchison tagliano il traguardo in
20esima e 22esima posizione.
Grande sfortuna per il nuovo arrivato Mark, che dopo essere partito dalla 20esima posizione era riuscito a recuperare fino a portarsi in 13esima ma è stato protagonista di una collisione con il pilota che lo seguiva, che ne ha provocato l’uscita di pista e una scivolata.
M.Aitchison #18 : “Oggi siamo partiti molto bene in gara, abbiamo recuperato da subito svariate posizioni in classifica e ho trovato da subito un buon ritmo. Sfortunatamente durante il 5’ giro,quando mi trovavo in 13’ posizione, sono stato colpito sul posteriore e sono scivolato. È un peccato, ma le gare sono cosi.
Voglio ringraziare tutto il Team per la grande opportunità che mi ha dato e per aver lavorato molto in questi 3 giorni al fine di raggiungere gli obiettivi che ci eravamo preposti”.
M.Cucchiarini, Team Manager: “Mi posso dire soddisfatto,abbiamo riacquistato fiducia dopo questa gara, anche se la sfortuna non ci ha abbandonato. Siamo riusciti a stare tra i piloti ufficiali per gran parte della gara. È un peccato che Mark sia stato fermato da un incidente con il pilota che lo seguiva, ma è riuscito a ripartire portando a termine la prova pur avendo il freno anteriore e una pedana danneggiati seriamente. Adesso ci aspetta una lunga pausa che,come sempre, sfrutteremo per preparare il lavoro in vista della prossima gara”.
In ripresa anche Danilo Andric nella STK1000, soddisfatto di essere riuscito a girare oggi in 2’15, abbassando di più di un secondo il tempo rispetto alle qualifiche.
Anche il ‘reparto STK’ del Kuja Racing approfitterà della pausa per lavorare sulla moto e cercare la soluzione per migliorare l’accelerazione, nota da perfezionare nella 1000.
Il Kuja Racing, augurandovi buone vacanze, vi da appuntamento sul circuito del Nurburgring in Germania, il 5 settembre per la 11esima prova del Mondiale.

Not an easy weekend on the Silverstone Circuit for Kuja’s Mark Aitchison and
Danilo Dell’Omo.
A big crash during the first lap caused a red flag and the complete re-start of the
Race.
16 laps after the second start our riders finish in 20th –Dell’Omo- and 22nd position
– Aitchison-.
Very bad luck for Mark who started from 5th row and was hit by Kawasaki’s
Fabien Foret while he was trying to progress in the rankings.
M. Aitchison # 18 :
“We made a really good start today, I had found a really
good rhythm with the bike and I managed to be consistent in lap time.
I started 20th and I was improving but unfortunately during the 5th lap when I was
in 13th position F.Foret hit the back of my bike making me crash.
I re-started and I managed to do good improvements but didn’t have enough time
to keep progressing. It’s a pity but this is how races are.
I want to thank all the Team and the people who gave me this opportunity. We
worked very hard this weekend to understand the better directions to take and to
approach the goals we had”.
A long stop now for the Team before next race, on September 3,4 and 5 on
the Nurburgring Circuit in Germany.
